KEEP YOUR BOOTS TIED

KEEP YOUR BOOTS TIED

The shame and defeat you feel as you're stuck wandering the street, with nowhere to go and no one to meet.
Lost the game again, out hoping to find a friend, just to lend a little means to an end.
But now there are no shortcuts, you don't like where you've wound up, thought you were past this, but;
Again, stumbling down this path, no longer is it in the past-present and future come fast.
Feeling so tired, can't you just go home? Can't you just put away your phone, forget the words of those you'd sworn-you'd sworn-were to be ignored.

But I want my way, this isn't your choice, it's mine, and I've got the reins now, this isn't our mind...it's mine.
So sit back and feel bad, if you really cared, if you actually had, you wouldn't have dared, no matter how sad, to let me back.
Now I'm back in charge to do what I must to feel it all, to feel nothing and fall, to twist us all up until reality is stalled.
So we keep meandering, letting our boots feel the earth, as our soul has lost its worth here, but please, don't fear, don't cry, don't try to steer, just let me take it from here.
